Among the many reasons Kathy Petrino loves to write about her frequent travels, her generosity may be the most pervasive. She wants to visit as many places as possible during her lifetime and she is passionate about that, but she also wants to share her travel experiences and to help others have as great a time as she has. Kathy Petrino wants as many people as possible to have as much fun as she does, so she writes about every aspect of each voyage, including all details about all of her favorite destinations. And one of her favorite destinations is New Orleans, Louisiana.
Whether one refer to it by it’s name or by its acronym, NOLA, or you decide to call it by its nickname, “The Big Easy,” the image conjures great images. Sure, the city has been knocked on its butt a few times, such as the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, but there is also still a lot of life to New Orleans that makes it a great place to visit and a lot different than most. The first thing most people notice in NOLA is the panoply of scents coming from the constant cooking of scrumptious French-inspired Creole and Cajun food. However, the city’s motto is “Laissez les bons temps rouler!” (“Let the good times roll!”), and that is exemplified by the sounds wafting through the New Orleans air. Between the myriad live jazz and blues clubs and the street performers who appear on almost every block, it’s hard to miss the music. That is why the best way to take in the spirit of New Orleans is to just walk around. There is nothing like it anywhere.
